League of Legends Championship Series. The universally recognized name for any gamer out there. From the inception of the league, NA rivaled against the EU and only in the last few years EU seems to be way ahead. A lot of talks surround LCS and why it is underperforming internationally. From high ping soloq to import rules, it is very hard to tell what future will bring to the region.

What we can do though, is go through the league history and review what champions were the most popular over the years.

Summary:

We made a summary of the best champions for LEC recently, so it is quite interesting to see a lot of different champions being the most contested/played.

Yuumi had the highest pick/ban ratio at 98.9% in 2019 Summer.

2016 Summer is the only season that had all but one most contested and most played champions below 50% win rate. Only Vladimir clutched it out.

Janna has the lowest win rate ( 34.7% ) in Spring of 2015 out of any “most played champion” ever.

Highest win rate of the most played champions - Braum- 70% in 2018 Summer Split.

Second place: Aphelios 66% Spring of 2020.

Most games played ever by a champion in one split is a tie - Karma and Rek’Sai - 142 games each in Summer of 2016.
