Today we are going to talk about one of the dirtiest heroes in Dota 2 - Huskar. The hero is very famous among boosters, as many players still find it very hard to deal with Huskar and lose games to him quite often.

Role in the game
Huskar is a midlaner and only midlaner. Sometimes he can go for carry or offlane in case he gets countered hard in mid, but that’s rarely the case as you should pick Huskar in the last stage of the draft.
The purpose of Huskar in the game is to demolish his opponent in the lane, get early Armlet, kill Roshan, and then take all the space on the map from the enemy team.
Inner Fire deals damage to units around Huskar, pushing them away and disarming at the same time. The spell helps Huskar to deal with melee heroes, who jump on him in fights. The ability is also good for ensuring last-hits and helps to safely toggle Armlet while enemies are disarmed.
Burning Spear is Huskar’s harassing tool. It helps to zone the enemy away from the lane. The spell allows you to attack enemy heroes without dragging the creeps and towers aggro on yourself. Spears allow Huskar to kill Roshan by himself quite early into the game.
Berserker’s Blood gives Huskar bonus HP regen and attack speed based on the amount of his health. The less HP you have, the more bonuses you are going to receive.
Life Break helps Huskar to close the distance between him and his opponents. When Huskar reaches his target with Life Break, it slows down the target and deals equal damage to him and his opponent. It always benefits Huskar, as he instantly gains a bonus from Berserker’s Blood.
The more strength Huskar has, the more health he is going to restore with the help of Berserker’s Blood. For this simple reason, all the items you buy should be focused on increasing your strength and your survivability as well.
At the beginning of the game get yourself two Gauntlet’s of Strength, a Circlet, Faerie Fire, and an Iron Branch. Make sure to ask supports to share two Tangoes with you.
As the laning stage progresses bring yourself three Bracers. These items will significantly improve your survivability and allow you to play more aggressively. Add Boots of Speed to this build and you are going to be able to rotate around the map and move behind neutral camps faster.
The mid-stage of the game is where Huskar should start building his domination. Get yourself an Armlet of Mordiggian and then start working on your Heaven’s Halberd. Halberd is very good for Huskar as it gives him additional strength, evasion, status resistance, and the ability to disarm his opponents.
In the late-game, you have to get yourself a Satanic and follow it up with Black King Bar and Assault Cuirass. Usually, the game should be over by the time you get Satanic.
Even though Huskar is not an ordinary hero and requires some micro-skill, you do not need to have insane game knowledge or so-called macro-skill to dominate your games. Huskar’s gameplay is very simple.
Your goal throughout the game is to get yourself items, which improve your health and play around key objectives.
As the game begins, start harassing your opponent aggressively and use Berserker’s Blood regen to win HP trade battles. Bring three Bracers and Boots of Speed and then start working towards Armlet. Armlet is your key item. By triggering it effectively you can demolish your opponents in fights. Once you complete the Armlet, get yourself a Smoke of Deceit and move into Roshan pit to kill Roshan. Thanks to Burning Spear and Armlet of Mordiggian toggles you can do it very easily. Use the first Aegis of the Immortal to destroy as many towers as you can. Basically, your goal is to secure as much space on the map as possible and take it away from the enemy team. When Aegis disappears, start focusing more on farming and finishing Halberd and Satanic. With these items, you can secure the second Aegis of the Immortal and finish the game.
To make it simple, your gameplay should look like this:
Win your lane > purchase Armlet > kill Roshan > destroy tier-1/2 towers > kill second Roshan > finish the game. This basic scenario works perfectly for all Huskar spammers around the Dota 2 world.
Allies and counters
The biggest counter to Huskar is Ancient Apparition. If AA manages to hit Ice Blast, there is very little chance Huskar can survive it.
Viper is a good counter pick to Huskar in the lane, as he can disable Berserker’s Blood thanks to Nethertoxin. As Huskar usually plays with low HP, Bloodseeker and Necrophos can easily punish him for it.
Huskar works best with heroes, who provide him with team fight auras and have disables. He is also an excellent pick in combination with defensive support, such as Oracle, Dazzle, Winter Wyvern, Abaddon, or Omniknight.
